Step 1. To begin achieving this classy look, you need a clear base. Washing your face with clean, lukewarm water and patting it dry should do the trick. You can apply any mosturisers or toners that you wish to, but it's always a good idea to use a mosturiser as part of your skin routine regardless.
Step 2. Apply your favourite foundation or loose powder sparingly. Whilst you want to be covered, don't slather yourself in the stuff. Highlighter sticks are great for defining cheek bones - just suck in your cheeks and run the stick along the crease - but they aren't nessecary. Feel free to use any concealer/cover up for spots and blemishes. Of course, you don't have to wear any base makeup at all if your happy with your skin, so this is all totally optional.
Step 3. Selena's a liquid-eyeliner lover, so make like her and use a black eyeliner to outline your upper and lower eyelid. Be careful to keep it neat, and have make-up remover on hand in case you need it... liquid eyeliner can get a little messy if your not used to it, and some of the more affordable brands can run into your eyes, so take appropriate caution. One your happy with your eyeliner, let's move on. Selena has a dramatic black mascara here, so get your own. The best finish tends to come from the 'defining brush' kind, or the newer kinds with curved brushes, rather than the classic kind of mascara we're used to. Wiggle the mascara brush from side to side as you brush it onto your eyelashes, to help seperate the lashes and avoid the forming of clumps.
Step 4. Obviously, this look isn't complete without the lipstick. A matte/glossy, pillar-box red lipstick is the key, so be careful to apply it accurately to avoid red smudges around the edges - you'll look like you've got sore lips! Blot the colour afterwards on a piece of tissue, and your set!
